We offer a variety of programs and services for students ranging from student development series to first-year student forums to graduate school workshops.
The MRP staff work closely with faculty, staff and community members who are interested in improving cross-cultural relations and understanding cultural differences.
Why the Multicultural Retention Programs at UWO?
The MRP exists to help students improve educational achievement by bringing retention and graduation rates for M/D students in line with those of the student body as a whole. This is accomplished by offering a multi-faceted culturally and academically responsive programs and services to effectively serve multicultural and disadvantaged students.
MRP counselors also advise multicultural student organizations and staff in the Multicultural Education Center (MEC) throughout the academic year. With the guidance and assistance of MRP advisers, student organizations engage in leadership development process and planning to implement socio-cultural, educational and recreational programs and activities to help increase the level of cultural understanding and appreciation in the campus community.
